Lately, I’ve been in that phase where by the end of the day… I’m just done.
Not because anything big happened.
Just the normal mix of school schedules, volunteering, keeping up with the house, and trying to stay on top of everything.
And somehow, the first thing that starts to slip?
Taking care of myself.
Not on purpose. It just slowly moves to the bottom of the list.
I kept thinking I needed to “get back into a routine.”
But if I’m being honest, the routines I had in mind didn’t fit my life right now.
So instead of trying to do more, I started looking for ways to make things easier.
Not perfect. Just doable.
I stopped making skincare complicated

If something takes too many steps, I’m not going to do it when I’m tired.
That’s why I’ve been reaching for my melt-away cleansing balm every single day—morning and night.
At night, it takes everything off in one step—makeup, sunscreen, whatever the day threw at my skin.
But in the morning, I’ve realized I need it just as much.
After a workout, it helps remove sweat, oil, and all the stuff you don’t even think about—like dirt and particles in the air that settle on your skin.
It’s not just a “makeup remover” for me.
It’s the one thing I know will actually get my skin clean without overthinking it.
And because it’s simple, I actually stay consistent with it.
I’ve found shortcuts that still make me feel put together
I don’t always have time for appointments—but I still want to feel like myself.
That’s where my dry nail polish strips have been such a win.
No drying time.
No scheduling.
No sitting at a salon for an hour.
I can put them on in about 10 minutes at home, and they still look like I took the time to do something for myself.
And honestly? It’s saving money too.
It’s one of those small things that makes a bigger difference than you’d expect—because when my nails are done, I just feel more put together.

I simplified everything else
Instead of having a bunch of options, I’ve been sticking to a few go-to products I don’t have to think about.
Less decision-making at the end of the day = more follow-through.
I started doing things earlier
If I wait until I’m completely exhausted, it’s not happening.
Even shifting my routine up a little has helped me stay consistent.
And I’ve been focusing on the basics again
Drinking more water.
Taking a few minutes to sit and breathe.
Stepping outside or opening the windows.
Nothing complicated—but it adds up.
None of this is a big overhaul.
But it’s helping me feel a little more like myself again—and that matters.
If you’ve been feeling the same way, you don’t need a full reset.
Just start with one small shift.
If you’re wanting something simple to start with, these are the two things I’ve been using on repeat:
- My Melt Away cleansing balm (the easiest way to keep your skin clean without overthinking it)
- My dry nail polish strips (quick, easy, and actually doable at home)
What’s one small thing you’ve been doing lately that’s helped you feel a little more like yourself? I’d love to hear in the comments.
