If you already love Color Street nail strips, you might be wondering: Why would I need press-on nails, too?

Honestly? I thought the same thing.

But the more I think about it, the more I realize they aren’t really an either/or situation. There are times when I want my regular Color Street mani, and there are other times when I want an even easier option.

And that’s where press-ons come in.

They’re not just for special occasions

Yes, press-ons are perfect when you have a wedding, holiday party, family pictures or another event coming up. But that’s definitely not the only reason to keep a set or two in your stash.

You broke one nail.

We’ve all been there.

You’ve got a perfectly good mani going and then…crack.

Instead of redoing your whole manicure, you can pop on a press-on to replace the broken nail and move on with your day.

You need nails in a hurry.

Maybe you forgot about the event until the last minute. Maybe your nails are looking a little rough and you have five minutes before you have to walk out the door.

Press-ons are a really easy way to get a finished-looking mani without a lot of planning.

And here’s where I think they’re especially perfect for mom life…

You don’t even have to finish them all at once.

Because mom life doesn’t exactly follow a schedule

Let’s be honest. How often do you actually get an uninterrupted 15 minutes to yourself?

You could be sitting in the car line thinking, Perfect! I’m going to get my nails done while I’m waiting.

So you pop on a few.

Then suddenly the line starts moving.

Or someone needs you to change a diaper. Or wipe a butt. Or the doorbell rings. Or somebody needs a snack RIGHT NOW.

Whatever it is, you can stop.

Your nails aren’t going anywhere.

Come back later and finish the rest.

You can even sit at soccer practice and work on them while you’re watching your kid play. If you’ve got one kid playing, that’s an hour. If you’re me, that’s two hours a week of sitting at soccer practice.

That’s plenty of time to get a manicure done a few nails at a time.

And because these aren’t wet polish that needs to dry, you don’t have to worry about ruining your work if life interrupts you five minutes in.

That’s a pretty big win in my book.

They’re great for travel, too

These are especially handy for travel because you don’t need a lamp, special equipment, glue or a whole collection of nail supplies.

The kit includes 32 nails in 16 different sizes, so there’s a good variety of sizes to find a fit for your nails. They also come in different shapes, lengths and designs.

And everything you need to apply them is right in the kit, including a prep pad and the supplies you need for removal.

So you can put them on at home, in the car, at the airport, on an airplane…pretty much wherever you happen to be.

So why have both?

For me, it really comes down to what I want my nails to look like—and how much time I have.

Dry nail polish strips will still be my go-to when I want to choose from all the fun designs and colors in my stash and give myself a full manicure in just a few minutes. I love how quick they are, and I’m definitely not giving those up!

But after wearing the Color Street press-ons for several days now, I can already tell I’m going to use them more than I originally thought.

They’re especially great when I want a little extra length or a more polished, “done” look for a special occasion. And the fact that I can do just a few nails at a time makes them SO convenient when life is happening around me. Think sitting at soccer practice, waiting in the car pickup line, or squeezing in a couple nails whenever you have a minute instead of sitting down for an entire manicure.

And one of my favorite details? The glue is already on the nails. There’s no separate bottle of nail glue to carry around, open, spill, or get all over your hands. You just peel, press, and keep moving.

So I don’t really see myself choosing one over the other. I think I’ll be going back and forth depending on the day—sometimes I’ll want the fun designs and colors from my dry nail polish strips, and sometimes I’ll want the length, convenience, and polished look of the press-ons.

And honestly? After four days of wearing these press-ons and seeing how well they’re holding up, I’m pretty excited to have both options in my stash.
