If you’ve ever watched one of those videos where someone has a 15-step morning routine, I’m happy for them… but that’s definitely not me. Summer is busy enough, and I don’t want to spend a lot of time getting ready.

Most mornings start with Burn Boot Camp, so by the time I get home, the first thing I do is wash my face. That’s it. No complicated routine. Just a clean face, and I’m ready for whatever the day brings.

If we’re headed to the pool, the park, or spending a lot of time outside, I’ll put on sunscreen. If we’re mostly indoors running errands or hanging out at home, I keep things simple.

Lip balm? Only when I need it.

Makeup? Honestly, not very often in the summer.

One thing I do love having done all the time is my nails. Color Street makes that so easy because I can put on a set once and not think about it again for at least a week. Whether I’m at the pool, gardening, cooking dinner, or heading to a backyard BBQ, my nails are one less thing I have to worry about.

I’ve realized that my favorite routines aren’t the longest ones. They’re the ones I’ll actually stick with.

The older I get, the more I appreciate simplicity.

Less time getting ready means more time reading with my boys, enjoying a pool day, meeting friends, or simply relaxing.

Sometimes we think we need more products to take care of ourselves. I’ve found that I just need the right ones.

Simple really is enough.
