Summer usually means we’re spending more time out and about.

Maybe you’re heading out on vacation. Maybe you’re visiting family. Maybe you’re sitting through sports practices, spending long days at the pool, grabbing dinner out, or taking a quick weekend trip.

Whatever your version of summer looks like, I love having a few small games ready to grab and go.

Because sometimes you need something easy for:

  • kids waiting at a restaurant
  • downtime during travel
  • sibling boredom at activities
  • hanging out with friends or family
  • a low-key date night or weekend getaway

I put together a list of travel-friendly games that are small, portable, and actually fun to play.

And because I want to give you some variety for all your travel plans, I broke them into categories:

🎲 Games for kids & families
🎲 Strategy games
🎲 Party games

These are the kinds of games you can toss in a backpack, purse, glove compartment, or travel bag without giving up half your packing space.

We’ve brought games on vacations, packed them for road trips, pulled them out while waiting on food, and even took a couple to Disney World last year.

And while screens definitely have their place, sometimes it’s nice to have another option that gets everyone interacting a little more.

If you’re the kind of person who always packs a game for a trip too, you might like my monthly board game email.
