I know it’s still hot outside, but this is actually the time of year I like to start thinking about winter hand, nail, and lip care.

Because once the cold weather hits and your hands are already dry, your cuticles are cracking, and your lips are struggling, it’s a lot harder to play catch-up.

A little consistency now can make a big difference later.

Keep Cuticle Oil Where You’ll Actually Use It

One of my biggest recommendations is to keep a good cuticle oil somewhere you’ll see it and actually use it.

My favorite is the Triple Boost Nail Oil, and I love the roller-ball applicator because it makes it so easy to use throughout the day. No bottles to tip over or worry about spilling.

Keep one at your desk, in your purse, or even in the car. You can also keep one by the bathroom sink and make it part of your morning routine.

The important part is simply using it regularly. A few seconds here and there is much easier than trying to rescue dry, neglected cuticles later.

Give Your Cuticles Some Extra Love at Night

This is something I do year-round because I am very prone to hangnails.

Every night, I use my Restorative Nail & Cuticle Cream and really work it into my cuticles and the skin around my nails. I take it all the way up toward my knuckles instead of just putting it directly on the nail.

Then I follow it with Hand Cream.

I like doing this right before bed because I’m not immediately going to wash my hands or start doing something else. The products actually get a chance to sit on my skin while I sleep.

Keep both by your bedside so you don’t have to remember to go find them every night.

And Don’t Forget Your Lips

While I’m thinking about keeping everything hydrated, I’m also reaching for Jelly Pout every night.

It’s a lip treatment that I use year-round, but I especially appreciate having it in my routine once the weather starts getting colder and drier.

I put it on before bed along with my hand and nail care, so my whole little overnight hydration routine happens at once.

Start Before You Need It

That’s really the biggest tip I can give you: don’t wait until winter to start taking care of your hands, nails, and lips.

A little cuticle oil during the day, nail and cuticle cream at night, regular hand cream, and an overnight lip treatment can go a long way toward keeping everything hydrated and happy once the temperatures drop.

It’s not a complicated routine. It’s just a few things I keep within reach and use consistently.

Start now, and hopefully winter doesn’t get the chance to catch you completely unprepared.
